Preferential rates have been negotiated for participants expected to attend the 27th UPU Congress.

A wide range of rooms is available to all participants through partnerships we have established with leading hotels in Côte d’Ivoire. These hotels are generally well located and less than 10 km from the Congress center. The first participants to book will stay at SOFITEL HOTEL IVOIRE (the Congress site), which has a capacity of 390 available rooms (classic, superior, suites).

Côte d’Ivoire is in partnership with some twenty quality hotels and guest houses with maximum security, the list of which can be found in the tab below “list of hotels by name “.

All prices will include breakfast, service, and VAT. The tourist tax is charged per person, per night and will be invoiced once the booking has been made.

Transfer and transport to Abidjan

  • When you arrive: from Félix Houphouët- Boigny airport in Abidjan, shuttles marked with the visual
    “UPU 2021 CONGRESS” will be available to transport you to your accommodation, which you will have previously booked. At the exit of the plane, you will be welcomed by a team of hostesses and a “Shuttle” ticket will be given to you depending on the hotel you have booked. This ticket will allow you to board the shuttle bus to take you to this hotel. The driver will check your ticket and make sure you are in the right shuttle. For those who wish to take a taxi, it will be advisable to pass through the border control post, collect the luggage from the conveyor belts , pass through customs and at the exit of the airport, taxis called “IVOIRE TAXI” will await you there. You will give the name of the hotel and the driver will drive you there.
  • During your stay: if you stay in the hotels listed by the host country above, you will be able to use the shuttles available to each hotel, and provided to drive the participants to the Congress site. If you wish to travel by taxi during the day or in the evening, we advise you to always contact the UPU information office, which will be located in the hotel lobby. This office will help you organize your trip by taxi or UPU vehicle (depending on availability), in complete safety.
  • Telephone sim cards :To be able to communicate with the host country’s organizing team, when you arrive, local telephone sim cards will be available and purchasable at the airport reception desk provided for this purpose. There are three (3) mobile phone operators in Côte d’Ivoire: ORANGE, MTN and MOOV Côte d’Ivoire. The available sim cards will cost 1000 CFA francs (about 1.75 US dollars or 1.52 euros). With these rechargeable sim cards, which can be adapted to all types of mobile phone, you can also benefit from a paid internet connection. We recommend that you do not allow yourself to be enticed by sim card sellers outside the UPU airport reception area.
